The Color Kittens (A Little Golden Book)

The Color Kittens (A Little Golden Book) - Margaret Wise Brown, Alice Provensen, Martin Provensen This was one of the books that I used at a cat and kitten storytime the week before last. Hands down, it was the *most* popular book!I mean, this is along side of Kitten's First Full Moon by Kevin Henkes (Caldecott winner) and a new book Fuddles about a very fat and spoiled cat.Curious, I tried two other Margaret Wise Brown books (author of Goodnight Moon and others) and lo and behold! I found the same result. I found a book about a girl and a bear that live in the same house! There was not one child found that found that more interesting than The Wonderful House or The Golden Egg Book.I am baffled and rather in awe of Margaret. Clearly, so many years after her writing has been published she is able to hold the attention of a child almost more than any other writer I've tried so far.Except the Pigeon books by Mo Willems. That is the only exception so far. Oh, how they love to tell the Pigeon, "No! You can't drive the bus!"Curiouser and curiouser! :)
