My word, this is an interesting look at the Gopnik family living in Paris for a few years who have a little boy to boot! I love the culture clashes! For example, when introduced to Halloween for the first time, one friend of the family cannot believe this is a good holiday or how it's supposed to be "fun"!"Our friends, Marie and Edourard, who live with their two children, Thomas and Alexandra...were dubious : The children dress up as the dead and the horrific and then demand sweets at the price of vandalism? The pleasure is located where exactly?" An excellent read which I highly recommended! As an aside, I got a chance to meet the author and he is the only person that I have ever met who talks just as he writes!
